Carpenters 308

About

Carpenters have the skills and knowledge to cut, fasten, carve, and design objects made of wood or other materials. They must measure precisely (carpentry math) and know how to use different construction tools like saws, drills, small hand tools, and a variety of mechanized tools. Carpenters are often involved with the building of large structures such as, homes, freeways, and skyscrapers. Other carpenters specialize in creating smaller objects: furniture, carved wood pieces, or sculptures. Master or journeymen carpenters can also design aspects of a home/structure such as staircases and cabinets.
Carpenters Local 308 (Cedar Rapids) and Carpenters Local 1260 (Iowa City) are both active within the CRICBT service area.
